About Me

My approach to therapy is creative, compassionate and relational.

I am passionate about supporting you to reconnect and reach a place of understanding and ease within yourself.

I believe that healing happens in safe places with safe people. We need others alongside us in our healing journey but ultimately I will support you to find the places within yourself to allow that to happen.

Often we are left in survival mode following challenging experiences, be that a childhood filled with complex trauma, intergenerational patterns that no longer serve or a huge transition such as becoming a Mother.

Therapy can be a helpful resource prompted by challenging times, periods of adjustment or simply a desire to work through something that is unresolved.

I have over 14 years experience working with a diverse range of people of different ages and backgrounds who have experienced complex trauma, grief, loneliness, estrangement from family, addiction, homelessness, conflict, relationship challenges, abuse, questions around identity and purpose, neurodiversity, mental health illness, challenges related to Motherhood and support in personal empowerment.

Organisational experience includes working as a therapist for Respond Charity, NHS, CAMHS and St Mungo's Charity.

I currently offer individual and group therapy to people who identify as Women.

What is Creative Psychotherapy?

Creative psychotherapy or Dramatherapy is an integrative therapy that is grounded in frameworks such as attachment theory, psychodynamic theory, internal family systems, neurobiology, neurodevelopment and body based practices.

This combined with creative processes such as art making, movement, ritual, drama, writing, play and or music forms a basis to explore challenging thoughts, feelings and experiences much like traditional talking therapy but with the additional option to explore and process in a creative way.

For some people this can feel safer than talking directly about experiences.

What I offer

Group therapy

I currently offer a monthly creative psychotherapy group to Mothers who are in need of a space to heal and re-connect to their inner needs away from caretaking responsibilities.

The transition into Motherhood is huge and one that is not fully recognised within our modern day society.

Many Mothers find themselves without support and space to nurture their own needs and changing identity.

Within the group you will meet likeminded women and be offered the space to express and process themes related to Motherhood that perhaps wouldn't feel possible to outside of therapy.

The group is a safe, supporting and nurturing space.

If you feel curious about the group please get in touch.

Individual therapy

I offer individual therapy in a safe and confidential space.

Sessions are compassionate and tailored to your needs.

I have been practicing individual therapy for many years and feel very passionate about healing trauma through relationship.

Example session:

We meet every week at the same time and location.

The room becomes a familiar place of containment and safety.

There is consistency and clarity.

You arrive into the session and there is time to "arrive" and be with themes, feelings or challenges that are present currently.

With sensitivity and warmth, I will support you to explore the themes at a pace and in a way that feels right for you.

This may be through discussion or through a creative medium such as use of images, art making, writing or play. The choice for how we explore the themes would depend on what you feel most drawn to or comfortable with.

I will be alongside you in the exploration process and support where needed.

Within creative psychotherapy, some people choose to talk whilst they create as a way to process their experiences further as themes become more clear and conscious.

Towards the end of the session we would typically have a period of discussion and reflection before closing.

Weekly sessions at the same time are recommended.
